Title: “God Speaks Through Christ”
Topic: Revelations

Scripture: Hebrews 1:1-4~ “God, who at various time and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the worlds, who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.”

Observation: God is interested in speaking to man. He has made it His objective to reveal Himself to mankind either by speaking though holy men (prophets) or by ultimately revealing His own image and person through His holy Son, Jesus Christ. What we see in Jesus is the very image of God in full display and glory, far superior to all other revelation and communication God has had with man.

Application: To truly hear from God and know HIm intimately, one has to observe, study and hear from His Son Jesus. The prophets speak of Him, so to study the message of the prophets is to study the revelation of Him who was to come. But an examination of the Gospels reveals even that much more fully the very heart, character, and person of divinity. Jesus is the most expressive manifestation of God that there is and being that He Himself is the Word of God, He is the voice of God if you will that is peaking to us today. If we will listen, we will not only see and hear, but we will experience to glory, majesty, and wonder of knowing God.

Prayer: “Lord, I choose to make my heart open to hear and receive what you want to say to me through your Son Jesus Christ. At times it may not be what you want my sinful nature wants to hear, but my spirit cries out within me for more of you. More of your revelation ~ of who you are, what you are like, how you function, and what You desire from me. Let me peer into the beauty and wonderment of Your Son, Jesus, and observe the greatness and splendor of who You are. May it change my life, my thoughts, and my conduct knowing that You are speaking to me through Him, through the Gospel, through the Prophets and Psalms. May my life reflect the glory of Your presence all through the day."

“How will I be different today because of what I have just read?”
I will listen more and ponder more deeply the voice of God speaking to me through the Gospels.
